Video/teleconference delivery.

This course provides students with the premium nationally recognised qualification as an Access Consultant.

This course will provide Building Surveyors with a significant ‘point of difference’ to their peers and competitors when it comes to understanding and assessing access compliance in buildings.

It provides essential knowledge and skills related to the ‘Why’s’ of Access’ and provides an understanding of the rationale behind the access requirements of the Building Code and the Australian Standards for Access and Mobility. It includes all of the units of competency of the Certificate IV in Access Consulting as well as others to support a higher level understanding and application in the ‘real world’ environment.

This course has been specifically adapted for Building Surveyors and candidates must be able to demonstrate Recognised Prior Learning or Credit Transfer for some specific units of competency.

8 days face to face training sessions (delivered via video/teleconference) plus 12 months to complete all assignment material. Course fees are exempt from GST.

Note: There must be a minimum number of enrolments received by Access Institute, 2 weeks prior to course commencement, in order for this course to proceed. This number varies according to the course type and location.

Confirmation that a course will or will not proceed as scheduled, will be provided to each enrolled student, via email, no later than 2 weeks prior to course commencement date.

‘The course was a great mix of theory and practical. Having two course facilitators provided great balance and continued interest. I would recommend this course to all Council staff across all departments.’ — Ben Dowler, City of Sydney
