DESCRIPTION:Delivered Live Online via Zoom \nThis nationally recognised course incorporates: \n\nCPPACC4020 – Provide access advice on building renovations\nCPPACC5016 – Provide expert access advice on renovations to private dwellings\n\nThese units of competency are drawn from the CPP40821 Certificate IV in Access Consulting and CPP50721 Diploma of Access Consulting. \nThe course has been specifically developed for qualified Occupational Therapists seeking to strengthen their knowledge and skills in the assessment\, specification and implementation of home modifications for people with disability\, older people and others with access related needs. \nSupporting Professional Development in Home Modifications\nThe National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) requires Occupational Therapists undertaking home modification assessments to possess appropriate knowledge and skills in the assessment\, specification and implementation of home modifications. \nThis course provides structured\, nationally recognised training in these areas and supports Occupational Therapists to develop the technical knowledge required to assess existing dwellings and recommend home modifications that improve accessibility\, safety\, independence and liveability. \nCourse Overview\nThe aim of this course is to provide Occupational Therapists with the knowledge and practical skills required to undertake home modification assessments and provide recommendations for both minor and complex home modifications. \nThe course addresses: \n\nAssessment of existing dwellings and residential environments\nIdentification of barriers to access and useDevelopment of appropriate home modification recommendations\nInterpretation of plans and building documentation\nApplication of relevant legislation\, codes\, standards and guidelines\nCommunication with clients\, builders\, designers and approval authorities\nConsideration of construction constraints and existing building conditions\n\nMinor and Complex Home Modifications\nThe course addresses both Minor Home Modifications and Complex Home Modifications.
