SUMMARY:Navigating the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport Amendment 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport Amendment 2026 represents the most significant update to Australia’s transport accessibility requirements in many years. \nThe amendments introduce substantial changes affecting the planning\, design\, construction and operation of accessible public transport infrastructure and services. Importantly\, the Amendment does not replace the existing Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002. Instead\, it modifies and updates them\, meaning practitioners must now read both documents together to fully understand the current legislative requirements. \nFor many professionals\, interpreting exactly what has changed and understanding the practical implications will be a significant challenge. \nAccess Institute has undertaken a comprehensive review of the Amendment and is presenting a practical two-hour CPD webinar designed to help industry professionals understand the changes and how they affect everyday practice. \nWhat you’ll learn\nDuring this CPD session we will examine: \n\nThe purpose and structure of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport Amendment 2026.\nThe major legislative and technical amendments.\nWhat has changed and what remains unchanged.\nNew and revised compliance requirements.\nWhat organisations should be doing now\n\nAll participants will receive a Part by Part Summary of Changes to use as reference tool in their workplace. \nCertificate of Participation is provided to all participants for CPD purposes. \nCourse Fee: $220.00 (plus GST) per person. \nDates and Times:\n\nDelivered Live Online via Zoom: 9 September 2026\, 11.00am – 1.00pm\, Melbourne Time.\n\nThis session can be hosted ‘In house’ for organisations. This can be done either online or onsite at your venue. A minimum of 10 participants or equivalent fee is applicable. Contact us for more information or to discuss your requirements. \n
