The course is delivered live online via Zoom by access industry experts with specialist training skills. There is plenty of time for discussion and questions, with more than 30 years of practical expertise shared by trainers. 25 nationally recognised units of competency are included, and a twelve-month time frame is provided for completion of course work, although many students complete prior to this, depending on their individual work and personal circumstances.
The course incorporates the latest changes to relevant legislation and the newest thinking regarding adoption of the principles of Universal Design in the built and service environment. It also provides the basis for a comprehensive understanding of the reasons behind the legislation and standards and the principles of Universal Design, – the ‘Why’s’ of Access – relating to the function and use of buildings, facilities, and services.
This course has been specifically adapted for Architects and candidates must be able to demonstrate Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) for at least one specific Unit of Competency i.e., Read and Interpret Plans. Candidates can also apply for additional RPL or Credit transfer based on their individual skills, existing qualifications, and experience.
