Delivered Live Online via Zoom
The Conduct a Streetscape Access Audit course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to assess the accessibility of urban streetscapes, activity centres and public realm environments. The course focuses on identifying barriers to access and inclusion, evaluating compliance with relevant legislation, standards and guidelines, and developing practical recommendations to improve access for all members of the community.
Participants will learn how to undertake systematic access audits of streetscapes and public spaces on behalf of government, developers, consultants and asset managers. Audits may be undertaken to assess compliance with legislative requirements, inform streetscape upgrades, support precinct renewal projects, or contribute to broader access and universal design initiatives.
The course provides a practical understanding of how access requirements apply to streetscape elements such as pedestrian pathways, kerb ramps, pedestrian crossings, public transport infrastructure, street furniture, signage, landscaping, outdoor dining areas, public amenities and activity centres.
A comprehensive access ordering checklist for Streetscapes is provided to all participants along with report templates.
